Police Officer Standards and Training (POST)

The Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) was established by the California Legislature in 1959 to set minimum selection and training standards for California law enforcement. The POST program provides participating agencies such as the SFPD access to job-related assessment tools, research into improved officer selection standards, management counseling services, the development of new training courses, and quality leadership training programs. You can find more details regarding the California POST program here.
